We’re really pleased to have been named as one of only 29 companies in the UK to have received the new Government Platinum Quality Mark in recognition of the number of our employees donating to charity directly from their pay.
8,000 companies in the UK offer a Workplace Giving scheme so it is quite an achievement to be among only 29 receiving the award.
The Government Platinum Award, new for 2012, was introduced to recognise companies who had already achieved a Gold Quality Mark for their employee charitable giving from pay. However, some employers had gone above and beyond the Gold criteria and so the Platinum Award was introduced to recognise their achievement of having 20% or more of their employees giving from pay and also because they are doing something extra such as matching or enhancing their employees donations or helping to encourage other employers to offer the scheme.
Peter O’Hara of Workplace Giving UK who has helped us set up and promote the scheme to their employees says. “We are really thrilled thatHaygarth have been awarded the Platinum Quality Mark for their consistent commitment to Workplace Giving and that they see the value in making charitable giving as easy as possible for their workforce who have responded with overwhelming generosity. We hope that more companies will be encouraged and inspired to follow their lead. Most people have really good intentions but often do not get round to turning them into fantastic actions. Making donating to charity as easy as possible by letting employees give straight from their pay is more crucial than ever in the current economic climate which is seeing a greater demand on charity services at the same time as seeing dwindling donations.”
