Comic Relief #RND2013

Not one to shy away from silly outfits or outlandish fundraising challenges we were requested by the Haygarth Charity team to dust off our Onsie (or other inappropriate clothing item) and wear it to work on Red Nose Day.

Fortunately there were no clients in the building to see the interesting fashion statements made by everyone but you can see them on our Facebook page!

Food of Love

Food of Love

Our much anticipated annual Valentine’s Bake Off was sickly sweet and made with love. The stakes were high with three of our best bakers going head to head for pole position. 3rd place went to the delicious Jen Allen for her creation ‘Lover Balls’. 2nd place went to reigning champion Katie Lewis with her beautiful bouquet of cupcakes ‘Love Bunch’ but 1st place was awarded to the scrumptious Xanthe Nobes for her very (naughty but) nice treats ‘Lick You Up & Down’.

We're really pleased to announce that we have a number of Mo Bros partaking in a bit of facial accessorising…for charity! The guys set off all baby-faced on the 1st MOvember and we are recording their (very slow) progress via twitter.

Any witty banter or donations welcome http://uk.movember.com/team/709353

Halloween Bake-Off

Halloween Bake-Off

A popular fundraising event, this month’s bake-off took a spooky twist in homage to Halloween however there was not a pumpkin in sight! The ingredient of choice appeared to be chocolate. Very, very, dark, naughty chocolate.

Of the four creations, all were scored on taste, looks and effort and it was close however, Senior Artworker, Katie Lewis’ cake and cake-pops came out on top.

All money raised goes to the Rainbow Trust

Olympic bake Off

Olympic Bake Off

Another delicious bake-off with this season's theme of Olympics saw some real medal contenders but unfortunately there can only be one winner. Bronze was awarded to George for her 'Olympic Torch' creation and Silver was taken by, bake-off first timer, Sophie with her Team GB interpretation. However the triumphant winner, who continually shows true dedication to bake-off, was Lauren with her Velodrome!

All funds raised through bake-off are donated to the Rainbow Trust

It’ll be all white on the night!

It’ll be all white on the night!

We all enjoyed the success of our annual Tennis Whites night as we raised over £200 for The Rainbow Trust. The sun was shining, Murray was winning and the beers were flowing whilst our charity team charmed donations from the patrons of The Dog & Fox.

Our next fundraising event is the Olympic Bake Off which will take place in August.

London to Brighton and back…

A brave group of Haygarthians, affectionately known as The Village People, donned their Lycra and fetching Haygarth racing jerseys to take on the epic London to Brighton Cycle Ride.

Raising money for the British Heart Foundation the team exceeded their target raising £1300 with, team mates, Jen Allen and Katie Lewis taking first spot at a time of just four hours and 30 minutes.

Haygarth Goes Platinum

Haygarth Goes Platinum

We’re really pleased to have been named as one of only 29 companies in the UK to have received the new Government Platinum Quality Mark in recognition of the number of our employees donating to charity directly from their pay.

8,000 companies in the UK offer a Workplace Giving scheme so it is quite an achievement to be among only 29 receiving the award.

A Year of Giving

A Year of Giving

December was a bumper charity month for Haygarth.  With the village aglow in festive lights, our regular bake off was transformed to a Winter Wonderland too with snowball cakes and gingerbread houses to get us in the Christmas spirit.  Followed up by a Christmas Cracker Lucky Dip, Haygarth’s staff dug deep in their coffers to win days off and special privileges, before competing in the annual Festive Hamper Raffle.  It was the lucky Darren Fagence who walked away with the whole caboodle, but not before 20 lucky runners up received their prizes in what became a laugh a m

Trick or treat?

Trick or treat

To celebrate All Hallow’s Eve, and as a brilliant excuse to dress up, we all took up the theme of Halloween with aplomb.

With Bats, Devils, Vampires, Ghost busters and even Michael Jackson making an appearance Wimbledon Village had never seen such a frightening sight!

A bottle of champers was won by the lovely Halinka who was crowned ‘best dressed’ as a scary, scary version of Lady Gaga. Plus, whilst the drinks were flowing we also managed to raise just under £100 for the Rainbow Trust…
